august mingle;

This is the general mingle log for August. Feel free to post open top levels for: new arrivals, job duties, general hanging out in common spaces, bonding with your block, and anything else you can think of.

There will not be a catch all for the event, so you can put event starters here or in their own separate log!

The Director is a doctor, not a computer scientist—at least, in this life. Yet the apparent living computer in this room intrigues him greatly. He pokes around in the machinery until he's hoisted in the air, and AM appears.

He doesn't struggle against his imprisonment. He merely crosses his arms and scowls. When AM inquires as to what he's doing, he's similarly defiant.

"Nothing that is any of your business," he replies.

In this Dominion, AM can be whatever he wants, it seems. Well, or close to it. Computers were always what he was known for, always what he was good at. They held so much potential, and with them one could seize control of everything.

It feels natural. This is his Dominion, his work, his company. Sure, the actual company AM may no longer be in his hands after his arrest and jailing, but it's still his. He willingly goes by AM in jail thanks to the news, and thanks to wanting his face to forever be on his company. And here he can thrive, doing what he wants with his technology, continuing his legacy in the directions he desires without being hindered by HR and business ethics.

He's not sure entirely how he became hybridized with his machines, but it feels almost natural. Like a dream. The hand that wraps around this intruder is somehow both part of him and not, as if the house itself seems to meld with his mind. (But that's the thing about programming: it will do exactly what you tell it to do.)

AM himself - or Alan, the man, the half machine - walks in right after that hand grabs the invader. He takes a breath, causing a hitching sound in his throat - air hitting metal, hitting fans. Fragile and yet not. He's invincible.

"Oh, but it is my business, my dear friend." He slowly steps toward his new prisoner, leering at him through red eyes.

"This is my house, after all."

"Does that seem like it bothers me?"

Leonard's voice is thin, as he's being rather squashed. Yet he remains as bullheaded as ever.

"I don't intend to tell you anything."

Bullheaded indeed. AM's robotic self scowls at the intruder, stepping closer as the large mechanical hand squeezes even tighter, threatening to break bones or cause suffocation.

"I'll give you one last chance. Tell me what you were doing." But does it matter? AM has an intruder in his grasp, and he should treat the intruder like he would anyway. If he found a burglar on his property and no one else saw, of course he would swindle the burglar away to be tortured.

But maybe he won't torture him. It depends on the answer and depends on how generous AM feels at any given moment.

"Exploring; nothing more." His voice is strained, almost crushed. He sounds like the air he expelled to say those few words were the last in his lungs. Yet he remains stubborn to the end.

It's tempting to squeeze this poor man to death, but that would be too easy. Too quick. Why would he give an intruder such an easy way out?

"Oh, and what did you find in your explorations?" He lets up slightly with his grip, then, allowing the man to breathe just a bit more and answer the pertinent question.
