 Nestled deep in the mountain ranges of Colorado and named for the strange black rock formations surrounding the site, Obsidian Penitentiary is the last place most people ever want to end up. Once reserved for the worst-of-the-worst, within the last few years Obsidian has opened its doors to any prisoner unlucky enough to be sent there. Rife with corruption and home to some of the world's most infamous criminals, Obsidian is a society of its own where the law will fail to protect you more often than not. Maybe you're one of the top dogs. Maybe you have the protection of a gang. Maybe you're playing snitch for the guards. Or maybe you're all alone in this world - save for the beast beneath the prison grounds, if you're the sort to believe in such rumors. Prepare for the worst, and try to survive another day. Obsidian Penitentiary is an 18+ AU crime/horror game set in a modern-day prison under the influence of an ancient creature. Characters will navigate the perils of everyday prison life, make a name for themselves or try and keep their heads down and serve their time without a fuss, enforce the rules or thwart them. There will be elements of supernatural horror, trending towards urban legends, unsolved mysteries, and cosmic horror, as well as dark and disturbing themes. Characters are encouraged to make allies and enemies and try to climb the social ladder (or push other characters down it).
